Tim Scott backed former President Donald Trump for another four-year term

Senator Tim Scott on Friday endorsed former President Donald Trump for another four-year term.

Scott is expected to speak at a Trump rally Friday night in Concord, New Hampshire, and campaign with the former president ahead of Tuesday’s Granite State primary.

We need a president who understands the American people are sick and tired of being sick and tired, Scott stated.

Trump has won the support of a number of Republican lawmakers in recent weeks and months, with Scott being seen as a possible vice presidential pick for Trump if he wins the GOP nomination.

Nikki Haley, who is running against Trump, was caught off guard. First, Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, announced Scott’s nomination to fill the vacant US Senate seat in late 2012. Second, the two were considered political allies for years, but their relationship soured when both decided to seek the presidency in 2024.

To such a gesture from Scott, she reacted as follows: “We’ll wait and see if it happens.”

Apart from this, Haley criticised this political standoff by saying the following: “Interesting that Trump’s lining up with all the Washington insiders when he claimed he wanted to drain the swamp,” Haley said. “But the fellas are gonna do what the fellas are gonna do.”

According to an average of recent polls compiled by the Real Clear Politics website, as of Friday afternoon, Trump was leading by a 13.5 percent.
