Former President Donald Trump welcomed the US Supreme Court ruling that Colorado made a mistake when it excluded him from the ballot. Trump then urged Biden not to hide behind judges and prosecutors.
In his remarks at his Mar a Lago resort on Monday, Trump accused President Biden of weaponising the Justice Department against him.
Fight your fight yourself. Don’t use prosecutors and judges to go after your opponent.
However, it is claimed that the US Department of Justice operates independently of the White House, and there is currently no evidence that the White House is coordinating with prosecutors going after Trump.
Following the Colorado case, Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows reversed her previous ruling that Trump was ineligible to run in the state’s 2024 primary election, citing the Supreme Court’s decision.
Bellows ruled in December that Trump was constitutionally barred from running in Maine’s primary election because of his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
