Trump confirms Israel’s military supplies

On Saturday, former US President Donald Trump confirmed that Israel will soon receive military supplies it ordered and paid for but had not yet received from the Biden administration.

This includes 1,800 MK-84 bombs that had faced delays for months. Trump announced the delivery on Truth Social after the Pentagon lifted its hold on the munitions, which the Biden administration had imposed in May.

Axios reported that Israeli officials learned of the decision on Friday. The US had stored these military supplies domestically and now plans to deliver them in the coming days.

Biden imposed the hold in response to Israel’s actions in southern Gaza. This created a significant rift in US-Israel relations during the conflict.

Prime Minister Netanyahu used the delay to rally support from American Republican lawmakers, who criticised Biden’s position. They argued that the hold undermined efforts to limit civilian casualties in Gaza.
