Trump shooter posted message online before assassination attempt: “July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds”

Thomas Matthew Crooks, who carried out an assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, left a message on the Steam platform shortly before the attempt on the politician’s life about the impending shooting, Fox News reports.

When investigators examined the laptop, they found several search terms in July: Trump, Biden, when the DNC convention, and a Trump rally on July 13. Investigators found no evidence of a particular ideology on the laptop, which the FBI said was notable, and no one in the interview said Crooks discussed politics.

Detectives found that the suspect had two mobile phones. The primary phone was found at the crime scene along with a remote transmitter. The secondary phone was found in the house, with only 27 contacts on it. The FBI is now in the process of locating and interviewing those people.

On “Steam,” a popular platform where gamers purchase games and communicate, Crooks allegedly wrote:

July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds.

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which includes the Secret Service, has opened an investigation following the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump. The agency will examine how the Secret Service under its control planned to provide security at Trump’s campaign event, what was done, and will evaluate it accordingly.

The investigation will be led by DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari, who was appointed to his post by Trump in 2019.
