Trump to welcome Netanyahu at White House

US President Donald Trump would host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on 4 February, the PM’s office announced.

Netanyahu will be the first foreign leader to meet Trump in person at the White House since his inauguration on 20 January. The visit comes at a time when the US is urging Israel and Hamas to continue to honour an agreed ceasefire in Gaza.

Trump announced the visit on Monday aboard Air Force One while speaking to reporters. Netanyahu last travelled to Washington for a joint session of Congress at the Capitol last summer.

Netanyahu’s office added that the prime minister also spoke with US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth on Sunday.
