Trump warns Iran of strong US response, denies role in Israeli strikes

US President Donald Trump said the United States played no role in Israel’s recent attacks on Iran. However, he warned that any Iranian strike on the US would trigger a powerful military response.

Posting on Truth Social early Sunday, Trump stated:
“The US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran tonight.”
He continued:
“If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.”

He also opened the door to diplomacy.
“We can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel and end this bloody conflict,” he added.

Israeli strikes and Iranian retaliation intensify conflict

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it had carried out several strikes in Tehran. The targets included the Iranian Ministry of Defence and a site linked to the SPND nuclear project.

According to the IDF:
“We completed an extensive series of strikes on targets in Tehran related to the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons project.”

In response, Iran launched missiles into Israel. The strikes killed at least 10 people and injured over 180. Iran claimed it targeted fuel storage facilities used by Israeli jets. Israel has not confirmed these claims. Casualty details from Iran remain unclear.

Iran accuses the US,  nuclear talks suspended

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, accused the US of backing the Israeli attacks.
“We have solid proof of support from American forces and US bases in the region,” he said during a televised meeting with foreign diplomats.

The Israeli strikes followed a surprise military offensive aimed at Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Israel said it hit sites linked to nuclear weapons development.

However, US intelligence and the International Atomic Energy Agency have repeatedly said that Iran was not pursuing nuclear weapons before the attacks.

Ongoing violence has now halted planned US-Iran nuclear talks. It remains unclear when or if negotiations will resume.
