US President Donald Trump is set to visit the UK in September to meet with King Charles III. The visit will take place at Windsor Castle, and will be his first since his official visit in 2019, when he met with Queen Elizabeth II.
On Friday, Trump announced his intention to visit the UK. During this visit, he plans to meet British King Charles III.
“I have been invited by the king and the country, a great country…. I believe the date of the visit will be set for September,” Mr. Trump told reporters at the White House.
Mr. Trump told reporters at the White House that he had received an invitation from king and country, calling Britain a “great country.” He also expressed confidence that a date for the visit would be agreed soon.
Information about the upcoming meeting is also confirmed by the Telegraph, which reports that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer handed Trump a personal letter from the monarch at the end of February 2025. According to the newspaper, the venue for the meeting will be Windsor Castle, rather than the previously considered Balmoral or Dumfries House.
During his two presidential terms, Donald Trump came to the UK on an official visit once in 2019, where he was received by Queen Elizabeth II.
