Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson announced in a post on X that he returned to Russia to interview foreign minister Sergey Lavrov.
We came back to Moscow yesterday to interview the Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, the longest-serving foreign minister in the world.
The Lavrov interview is Carlson’s second conversation with a senior Russian official this year. In February, he travelled to Moscow to interview Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Carlson claimed Lavrov could help get a “Russian perspective” on the war in Ukraine. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also said the meeting was “extensive” and lasted “more than one and a half hours.”
In his video on X, Carlson criticised the Biden administration’s actions, including recent permission for Ukraine to pound US-made ATACMS missiles deep into Russia. The former anchor stated that this “has driven the US ever-closer to a nuclear conflict with Russia.”
We are, unbeknownst to most Americans, in a hot war with Russia.
Carlson also mentioned topics for the upcoming interview, including what Donald Trump’s electoral victory in the US could mean for the future of the war in Ukraine.
