A Turkish air ambulance carrying three injured children from the Gaza Strip landed at Turkey’s Ankara Esenboga Airport on Thursday.
So far, 88 Gazans are being treated in Ankara, with the third evacuation expected to take place on Friday, according to Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
We expect the third evacuation to be tomorrow, and it will mainly consist of children and young people.
A plane belonging to the Turkish Health Ministry took off from Al-Arish Airport in Egypt at 2 p.m. local time (12:00GMT). The Health Minister welcomed the children and their travelling companions at the airport.
He also met with health officials on the plane, treated the injured children and helped transport them to ambulances. Koca reported that the three injured children were apart from the previously announced evacuation group of 50 people.
Asked about the establishment of field hospitals for the wounded in Gaza, Koca claimed that Egypt had a team formed under the coordination of Israel, Egypt and Turkey, assembled specifically for that task.
We are at the stage of determining the location for this. We want to take action as soon as possible.
