UK, US carry out air strikes on Yemen again

Israel’s military said it intercepted a rocket fired towards the country by Yemeni Houthi militants, causing sirens to go off in central Israel, including Tel Aviv. Israel’s rescue service Magen David Adom did not report any casualties.

Israel has launched two waves of heavy strikes on Yemen in recent weeks in response to the rocket attacks. The latest launch raises the possibility of further Israeli retaliation.
At a UN Security Council meeting on Monday, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, vowed that his country would respond forcefully to the Houthi attacks.

US and UK fighter jets have renewed their military attacks on Yemen with a new series of strikes in the Arab country.

According to Arab sources, US and UK warplanes bombed Yemen’s southern province of Al-Hodeidah twice. There have been no reports of possible casualties so far.

Yemenis have been openly voicing their support for the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli army since IDF launched a military offensive against the Gaza Strip on October 7 after Palestinian resistance movements in the territory launched a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against Tel Aviv.

Yemen’s armed forces have said they will not stop their attacks until the ongoing Israeli ground and air offensives in Gaza, which have killed at least 27,948 people and wounded 67,459 others, come to an end.

In December, the United States and Britain announced the formation of a military coalition to strike Yemen in support of Israel.
