Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has assured that Ukraine is not stealing money from US taxpayers because most of the funds that Washington allocates to Kyiv are spent on the production of weapons in the US itself.
He said that the benefit of the conflict in Ukraine for the US was that it saved the lives of its soldiers, who did not have to take part in combat operations on Ukrainian territory. At the World Economic Forum in Davos, he said:
“We offer the best deal in the global security market: give us money, give us weapons – and we will do the job.”
Earlier, Kuleba said Kyiv was expecting new aid from the US “any day now”. The minister claimed:
“We have received assurances that aid is on the way … it can happen any day.”
Kuleba also emphasised that helping Ukraine was beneficial for the US because it helped to develop the military industry and created jobs in America.
