China claims the U.S. destroyer entered its territorial waters without the permission of the Chinese government, according to a post on an official WeChat account.
On Saturday, the Chinese military said the U.S. destroyer entered Chinese territorial waters without consulting the Chinese government.
The post also said the incident “proves that the United States is an out-and-out ‘security risk creator’ in the South China Sea.”
As a consequence, the Chinese military dispatched its navy and air force to “track, monitor and warn away” the vessel.
