Ukraine is preparing reforms to mobilize the army amid a protracted war as the end of the conflict with Russia is not in sight.
However, Kyiv does not disclose information about troop losses and the progress of the mobilization program, which has been going on since the beginning of the conflict.
It was only stated that issues with military medical commissions and recruitment centers will be addressed, according to the Ukrainian president.
Zelensky said he instructed senior officials to prepare proposals: “The plan will be worked out and all the answers will be there – next week I will see this plan.”
Ukraine has been under increasing pressure to enlist, as scandals involving corruption or harsh recruitment tactics have periodically erupted. As a consequence, all heads of military recruitment centers were fired in August.
Earlier this week, several Ukrainian lawmakers said they were preparing a multifaceted bill designed to improve the mobilization process.
