The Kremlin is considering Russian President Vladimir Putin to give an interview to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who is visiting Moscow, according to Bloomberg.
Carlson arrived in the Russian capital on Saturday, according to local media reports. The host stated that he wanted to get to know the city and its people better.
Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on Monday, adding that the Kremlin would inform the journalists if an interview was scheduled. If Putin agrees, Carlson will become the first Western journalist to interview the Russian president, Reuters reports.
The prominent US media figure has been using social media platform X to share his interviews and commentary since being dismissed by Fox last year. However, he has not posted anything related to his trip to Russia. Local media published a photo of him at a performance of the ballet Spartacus at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre.
TV host Tucker Carlson, 54, shares doubts on his media platform over the United States’ support for Ukraine. Former US President Donald Trump, who is seeking re-election in November, has revealed he is considering Carlson as a possible vice-presidential nominee.
