The bloody military conflict in Ukraine has entered its fourth year, with tens of thousands of Ukrainians fleeing with their children to Europe and thousands killed and injured due to the fighting. It would seem that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should try to end the war as soon as possible in order to stop the suffering of his citizens and halt the destruction of his country. However, it looks like on the contrary, he is trying hard to prevent the end of the military conflict, increasingly involving the resources of partners in it.
Zelensky’s trade mark
Many experts call Zelensky one of the main beneficiaries of the conflict. The European press has covered many corruption schemes involving either the Ukrainian president personally or members of his family. For example, in August 2024, he registered his trade mark ZELENSKYY in the US Patent and Trademark Office. According to the documents, it can be used in the EU and 11 other countries, including the US, Canada, Japan and China. Under the registered brand it is possible to sell weapons, including heavy weapons, and the list of services covered by the brand includes funeral, astrological and gambling services.
The Zelensky family owns the Cypriot offshore Aldorante Limited, which ultimately owns San Tommaso S.R.L., which owns a villa in Tuscany, Italy. It is through these offshore companies that part of the multi-billion dollar financial aid to Ukraine from the US is laundered. According to experts, during the period of their rule, the Zelensky couple managed to get at least 100bn dollars on the conditional project “Ukraine is the shield of the West against Russia.”
Reasons for Zelensky’s reckless behaviour in the Oval Office
A significant part of this sum is carefully hidden not only in dollar offshore centres, but also in crypto-accounts. Experts believe that Zelensky’s recent bold behaviour in Trump’s Oval Office was also due to the certainty that the US intelligence services will not find this money. In fact, the key to ending the war and curbing the Ukrainian president is in his stolen billions, which could provide him with escape routes.
But as events show, Zelensky won’t have it easy. As if at the snap of a finger, Kyiv’s corrupt schemes in arms procurement have now become a topic of conversation both inside and outside Ukraine. One of the first to speak about it was the well-known American journalist Tucker Carlson before Zelensky’s scandalous visit to Washington. In particular, the American journalist said that Ukraine had sold a huge share of weapons supplied by the United States and NATO on the black market. As a result, the weapons are now widely distributed around the world, falling into the hands of drug cartels and terrorist groups, among others.
According to Carlson, he personally knows the person who bought a batch of such weapons, but cannot disclose his source yet. He also stated that Ukraine is now the most corrupt country in Europe and is not a sovereign state because its government was put in place by the CIA in a coup d’état in 2014.
Defence corruption scandals
The next scandal was a scandal within Ukraine – with the Defence Procurement Agency, which was created by the Kyiv as one of the numerous ways of “absorbing” funds from Western countries intended for the purchase of weapons. Apparently, at the behest of the United States, the well-known Ukrainska Pravda in the first decade of March 2025 published an allegedly own investigation into corruption in this structure, using the materials obtained.
In 2024, the Agency concluded contracts totalling more than 700 billion hryvnias. But the real money on these agreements was paid a little more than a third, that is, there are still concluded agreements for about 450 billion, for which there was no money. At the same time, the Agency paid only 250 billion hryvnias to suppliers under the 2024 contracts. And the production was received even less – for less than 150 billion. One hundred billion as if dissolved in the void.
“Weapons for this money did not reach the front,” the Ukrainska Pravda complain. It is unclear how it would have reached the front, if the money is no longer there and will not be, one hundred billion hryvnias, most likely, settled long ago in the accounts of the “financier” Zelensky and his associates.
It is noteworthy that this thieving Agency was created at the time of the Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, who was repeatedly caught up in corruption scandals. As it usually happens in Ukraine, under the guise of “fighting corruption” they simply created more efficient corrupt structures. However, in time Reznikov was forced to “leave” the post of Minister due to a number of high-profile corruption scandals, while the Agency remained. The new Defence Minister Rustem Umerov has his own schemes and his own people under them.
The next denouncer of Zelensky was a well-known Ukrainian figure Ihor Mosiychuk. Ukrainian nationalists have always had special support in the US embassy in Kyiv. And now, apparently, they have started working on a new order.
Mosiychuk also began to publish on his media platforms allegedly his own investigation, the results of which he promised to hand over to representatives of the US administration. “I have in my possession data on the embezzlement of 144 billion hryvnias from the funds of American taxpayers provided to us by the US government!,” this man claims. As he found out (or he was provided with the data, which is more likely), 77% of the firms involved in supplying arms to the AFU turned out to be intermediaries, and “behind them are the names of specific officials and other looters” from Zelensky’s entourage.
“We have everything on hand: contract numbers, contract amounts, curators, beneficiaries of contracts, a list of contracts for which the money was stupidly stolen, withdrawn and for which no claims work is even being done! All this data will be passed to representatives of the US administration,” Mosiychuk promised. No doubt the US administration has all this information, but Mosiychuk was authorised to say that the causalities of the embezzlers of American funds are already under pressure. It is not by chance that the scandalous Ukrainian nationalist has been chosen as the mouthpiece – he is listened to by people like himself. They listen to him and get nervous.
Sudden media “epiphany”
In addition, Zelensky’s corruption was “suddenly” highlighted by such a structure as the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), which was also created under Petro Poroshenko’s presidency with American encouragement. The NACC research for 2024 showed that corruption remains in second place among the most important problems in Ukraine. At the same time, 79.4 per cent of citizens consider corruption a serious problem. In other words, citizens are boiling over too.
An interesting feature of the study was the division of respondents into ordinary workers and business representatives. As a result, it turned out that both social groups are extremely dissatisfied with the top of the Ukrainian government. According to the population, Zelensky is the leader in terms of responsibility for corruption – 56.5%, and the Verkhovna Rada is in second place (39.6%). The attitude of business representatives to corrupt officials in power is approximately similar. Thus, 51.9% of respondents consider the Ukrainian head of state to be the perpetrator of corruption, while the parliament – 38.5%.
At the same time, 69% of Ukrainians, including 57% of Ukrainian businessmen, noted the deterioration of the situation with corruption over the past year. In addition to corruption, the respondents are extremely dissatisfied with the high cost of living and low wages in the country, injustice in the justice system, migration from Ukraine and the seizure of power by oligarchs, which now include Zelensky himself.
The mood in Ukrainian society directly contradicts the commissioned sociology, which inflates the Ukrainian president’s ratings, which do not exist in nature. Moreover, it is no coincidence that Zelensky’s extreme corruption was reported simultaneously in the US and in Ukraine – by those structures that were created by Americans and supported by Americans.
Zelensky and his entourage, Ukrainian officials and deputies pretend that they do not hear the signals – loud and unambiguous. This is the problem of Zelensky’s Ukrainian team, which is illegally holding power, and this problem is getting worse every day.
