Zaryadye hall holds meeting in support of Putin’s self-nomination

A meeting of a group of voters to organize support for Vladimir Putin in the upcoming March elections begins in the Zaryadye Concert Hall, according to Russian Media.

Head of the All-Russia People’s Front executive committee, Mikhail Kuznetsov, said that a week ago an initiative group decided to hold a meeting of a group of voters in favour of Putin’s self-nomination.

The meeting will raise the following aspects of the formation of the voters’ group, the appointment of its commissioners and the decision to support the self-nomination of the current president.

The meeting in support of the nomination of a candidate is a mandatory procedure. For this purpose it is necessary to create a group of voters in the number of at least 500 citizens of the Russian Federation, who have the right to vote. Further, notify the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation or the regional election commission about the place and time of the meeting no later than five days before the day of its holding.

At the time of the meeting there were more than 700 people in the hall.

On 8 December, Putin announced his intention to run for the presidency of the Russian Federation in the elections to be held in March. Voting will last three days from 15 to 17 March, marking the first three-day presidential election in the Russian Federation.
