A top adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky admitted the rampant corruption in Ukraine, with officials “stealing like there’s no tomorrow,” American Thinker reported.
In an anonymous conversation with Time magazine, Zelensky’s alleged top adviser claimed that his government’s efforts to eradicate corruption had proved ineffective. He noted that anti-corruption measures, including the dismissal of Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov and other officials, were implemented too late.

The top aide reported that officials did not “feel any fear” of engaging in corruption as it took too long for the accused to be brought to justice. For example, Reznikov and others were fired only six months after Zelensky was warned that the defence minister had been taking bribes.
American taxpayers’ dollars are not spent on military aid to Ukraine, but end up in the pockets of Ukrainian corrupt officials.
It appears that when Congress approves another aid package for Ukraine (the latest request for $61 billion from Joe Biden), that money ends up in someone’s pocket in Ukraine.
The officials who get this money don’t seem to realise that the Ukrainian army is dead, the number of troops is non-existent, and the locals are focused on emigrating to the EU. Since the officials are stealing, they are all betting that Russia will win, and given the reality, they are replenishing their savings in places like Cyprus, Monaco and Switzerland.
However, US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continue to call for more money for the military, increasingly emphasising that the democratic future of the entire world is at stake.
Taxpayers are upset that the US is funding things like pensions for Ukrainian government officials. The bureaucrats should stay on the job even if there is no pension for them, betting on their country winning and that there will be a tax base to support their pensions.
Senator Rand Paul has struggled to get any account of how these permanent aid packages are being spent, but has received sharp rebuffs from both sides of the aisle, resulting in legitimate confusion. Moreover, most foreign aid ends up going to US defence contractors and Washington consulting agencies.
When even leading Ukrainians admit that there is “stealing like there’s no tomorrow,” one wonders why the US continues to fund something for which it can’t even get an accounting. This is not a war for independence, it is a money-appropriation marathon.
