On the occasion that acts of insulting the holy book for Muslims are becoming more frequent, senior Iranian diplomat Nasser Kan’ani said that such acts as desecration of religious shrines contradict the basic principles of human freedom.
Iran believes that what the Swedish government is doing in this sector of life is not enough and expects it to take more serious action, i.e. serving the fundamental principles of human freedoms and striving to promote ethics and peaceful co-existence of religions.
Earlier on Friday, Swedish media reported that Salwan Momika, an Iraqi immigrant who lives in Stockholm, received another permit to repeat insulting the Holy Quran in the city of Malmö.
The desecration of the Holy Qur’an in Sweden forced Iran not to accept the new Swedish ambassador in Tehran. And the Swedish ambassador’s presence in Iran has been suspended until the Swedish government changes its attitude towards issues that need to be resolved as soon as possible.
