The first border post was established on the basis of geodetic measurements on the border between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan on April 23, 2024, as specialists from the two countries specified ground coordinates, local media reported.
As previously reported, in line with the agreements reached after the 8th meeting of the Commission on the Delimitation and Border Security of the State Border between Armenia and Azerbaijan on Tuesday, the expert groups of the two countries started the process of determining coordinates on the basis of geodetic measurements on the ground.
Previously, Armenia and Azerbaijan reached an agreement on several villages, a milestone on the road to a peace agreement after two wars following the collapse of the Soviet Union, and also guaranteed a reduction in border risks.
The agreement was reached at a meeting at the border between the two countries chaired by their deputy Prime Ministers.
