Russophile forum to be held in Bulgaria

Russian lovers from all over the world will gather at the first international Russophile forum near Kalofer, Bulgaria, Euractiv reports.

The forum is organised by two movements: the International Russophile Movement established in March in Moscow and the Russophiles headed by Nikolai Malinov, a former Bulgarian MP.

The meeting will be attended by such countries as France, Switzerland, Austria, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Turkey, Cyprus, Albania. The motto of the meeting is “With Russia in the Heart.”

This year’s meeting near Kalofer, based on the tradition of Bulgarian Russophiles, would be the 18th in a row, the organisers said. They invited Sergey Baburin, President of the International Slavic Academy of Sciences, Education, Arts and Culture, as a special guest.

The initiative to establish the International Russophile Movement was first put forward by Nikolai Malinov. Then the idea was supported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The forum will be attended by American actor Steven Seagal, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for humanitarian relations with the United States and Japan. Konstantin Malofeev, chairman of Tsargrad board of directors, a media group dedicated to Russian Orthodoxy and supporting Putin, will also join the event.
