China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is understood as a desire of China and Russia to co-operate in the global arena, according to Russian and Chinese news agencies reported on Sunday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is unique and different from other countries because here the two sides are building relations on an equal footing, there is no prejudice or imposition.
Vladimir Putin said the following in an interview with China Media Corporation:
In my opinion, the main advantage of the cooperation concept proposed by China is that within the framework of cooperation, no one imposes anything on others.
The Russian President also noted the timeliness of the project and expressed confidence in the successful future of the BRI.
The third Belt and Road Forum is set from Tuesday to Wednesday in Beijing. Putin will be in attendance. The previous two forums (in 2017 and 2019) were also attended by the Russian President.
The BRI is a plan for the creation of infrastructure and energy networks that China has embarked on to connect Asia with Africa and Europe through land and marine routes.
